World Equestrian Brands Wednesday Helmet Cam: Morocco by Horseback
We love helmet cameras: how else would we get to tour the world by horseback, one country at a time? Today’s video takes us to Morocco!
World Equestrian Brands Drone Cam: Blowing Rock Horse Show
Drones, you’ve come a long way: what was once considered the stuff of science fiction has now become the tool of the video artist. Case in point: this hunter round from Blowing Rock Horse Show.
World Equestrian Brands Wednesday Helmet Cam: American Pharoah
This is no ordinary helmet cam video — and not just because we’re getting the rider’s-eye view of what it’s like to gallop on American Pharoah.
World Equestrian Brands Helmet Cam: Harness Race
Climb into the sulky with Jodi Quinlan and pilot Amazing Kano to victory in this week’s Wednesday Helmet Cam!
I never appreciated just how intense the job of harness driver could be until I watched this video. Threading miniscule gaps with a galloping racehorse at 40 miles per hour is one thing, but fitting a pacer who’s going 30 miles per hour himself through the same small spaces — with a sulky attached — is a hair-raising process. However, expert drive Jodi Quinlan shows us how it’s done at Tabcorp Park in Melton, Australia as she guides Amazing Kano to a win:
Harness racing is quite popular in Australia, with 91 tracks in operation and over 5,000 Standardbred foals registered each year. Among the many major races held annually, the Inter Dominion series pits horses from Australia against those from New Zealand in rivalry, with championships alternating between the two host countries each year.
Go driving!

World Equestrian Brands Helmet Cam: Horseball
Get into the heart of a horseball match from the referee’s point of view!
If you rolled polo, rugby and basketball into one game (with perhaps the tiniest element of Quidditch thanks to that vertical hoop) you’d get horseball, an FEI-recognized discipline that’s popular in Europe and spreading around the world. Get an idea of what the game it like from the referee’s point of view:
This particular match took place in France, but the sport is also very popular in Italy and Spain; horseball also has leagues in Canada, Australia, China, Mexico and Argentina among other countries. The sport traces its roots back to an Argentinian game that involved a live duck rather than a ball — for obvious reasons, this early version is no longer widely played.
To learn more about horseball, see the International Federation of Horseball’s website.
Go horseball, and go riding!

World Equestrian Brands Helmet Cam: #SkidLidVid
Fallon Taylor and Caliente Cafe take us for a spin around the barrels in what Fallon’s named the #SkidLidVid. Love it.
As rodeo’s leading lady in choosing safety over tradition, Fallon Taylor’s #whatthehelmet campaign is helping to smooth the road everywhere for western equestrians opting to wear a helmet instead of a cowboy hat. And as a bonus, Taylor now has a home for her GoPro to video some of her runs. In the video description, she states that she used her helmet cam footage to find areas for improvement in her riding and isolating moments in which she made a mistake–spoken like a true horsewoman.

Caliente Cafe and I took a spin….wanna ride along with us and see if any of it helps you on your horse??? Click to play! I ride her very different than I ride my other horses…like the way I gather my reins leaving the alley…something I don’t do on any of my others and didn’t know I did it really until this footage popped up LOL! Found some places I can be a lot better and places that I really like how both of us are coming together. Hope this helps you in your journey!! XOXO FT & CC

As much as barrel racing looks like it’s just sprinting around three barrels as fast as possible, this video illustrates how intense the horses must decelerate, turn hard and then accelerate out of the turn: much harder to do well than it appears. Caliente Cafe is a model horse in quietly heading in and out of the chute, getting lots of love from Taylor on the way out of the arena.
Kudos to Fallon Taylor for coining the hashtag #SkidLidVid. Also, for wearing a helmet in the first place.
Go riding!
