Several organizations within the equestrian world have been working hard to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within our sport. On #GivingTuesday2021, you can help further their missions.
In partnership with RespectAbility, US Equestrian will host the next DEI Community Conversation, “Harnessing Accessibility and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities,” on Zoom on Wednesday, April 14, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. ET.
US Equestrian has published a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Action Plan outlining 10 strategies to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in equestrian sport.
“We received 27 submissions representing a broad spectrum … They are eventers, hunter/jumpers, dressage riders, polo players, western riders and more. There is no way to ‘judge’ or ‘rank’ them, as each voice is important and limitless in its own value.”
In an effort to meet the mission of calling for, encouraging, elevating and giving a platform to minority voices in a space where they are underrepresented, we are extending the deadline of our $5,000 1st Annual Diversity Scholarship by one week. (more…)
“We’ve published thousands of words on the subject of diversity and inclusiveness, but there is a gaping chasm between words on a page and real-life application. The diversity scholarship, as insufficient as it is and as imperfectly as we may have rolled it out, is a fledgling attempt to bridge that gap.” (more…)
