Either way, enjoy these 8 horse and animal friendships!

Photo Challenge: 5 Barn/Show Moms
We’re so grateful for the support of our barn and show moms, and in honor of Mother’s Day we’re sharing reader-submitted tributes for this week’s photo challenge!
The saying goes “it takes a village” — and no member of an equestrian’s village is more important than supportive family. We’ll be honoring our barn and show dads in June for Father’s Day, but for the first week of May, we’re focusing on the much-beloved show moms of Horse Nation. Here are 5 reader-submitted barn/show moms!

Photo Challenge: Valentine’s Day Treats
Because a holiday all about love = a holiday all about our horses.
Valentine’s Day is supposed to be spent with your loved ones … which means that at least part of that day is going to be spent at the barn, right? This week, we wanted to see how you were planning to spoil your horse for February 14.

Ever heard the phrase “horses fly without wings”? These reader-submitted horses are taking that phrase quite literally.
24-Hour Photo Challenge: Horse Stuff = House Stuff
Home is where the horse is. And also, apparently, all the other various accouterments that come with horses.
For this week’s 24-hour photo challenge, we wanted to see the horse stuff that made its way home from the barn and then became part of your decor. As usual, the good citizens of Horse Nation did not disappoint.
We rescued what was left of this saddle from the barn of my husband’s great grandfather, and it now proudly hangs in our daughter’s nursery. The Jacksons ran cattle and sheep in Southern Utah for decades, and we feel lucky that we can share that legacy with the next generation through this treasured relic. #horsenation #cowgirltough A photo posted by Lorraine (@lorraine.jackson) on

24-Hour Photo Challenge: Anything You Can Do …
… your horse can do just as well, and perhaps better. Our most fun photo challenge yet!
For this week’s photo challenge, we were inspired by a very funny photo that came our way of a horse who could curl his tongue … like a human. So we asked the readers of Horse Nation for any “human” activity that their horse could also do, and as usual, you guys really delivered. Here are 6 horses who can do anything a human can do, but better.
Horse Nation wants to see what weird “human” things my horse can do. How about “snorkeling”? See anything nice under that water, Ace? #horsenation #scubahorse A photo posted by Kristen (@kpie329) on
My entry for the human things your horse can do! ☺ My mare enjoys a warm cup of Tim Horton’s apple cinnamon tea on frosty winter days like today.
