Monday Morning Feed from SmartPak: SmartGain

Does your horse have trouble keeping weight on in the winter? This one’s for you.

Me, I start gaining weight at the very mention of “holiday season”…

… but my horse is the exact opposite. As soon as the temps start dropping I have to keep a close eye on him to make sure he’s maintaining and not losing weight.

SmartGain is a useful tool for helping keep on the pounds, using four complementary methods of support! Its comprehensive formula provides amino acids to support lean muscle development, extra calories from healthy fats, prebiotics, probiotics and enzymes for digestive health, and the herb Fenugreek to support a healthy appetite in picky eaters. Four weight gain strategies. One tasty supplement. View SmartPak’s Weight Supplement Comparison Chart.

In the land of Craigslist, equine appraisals doesn’t always make sense. A few examples:

Let’s start with this ad for a well-bred totally sound Grand Prix jumper for the low, low price of $4,000, sent in by reader Katie: “Hmm….”

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s this jumper who is allegedly either going to sell for $45,000 (negotiable!) or get sent to the slaughterhouse. From Lori: “I realize lots of good horses end up in bad places but a plea to spend $45k to save one (willing to negotiate notwithstanding)? Poor fella…”

Save the horse please I love this horse and don’t want to see this beautiful horse go to a slather house he’s a perfect horse very gentle and calm. beautiful oldenburg their asking for $45000 but I grantee they will negotiate a price he’s a level 2 jumping prospect. They don’t want to send it to a slaughter but they can’t maintain it please someone save this horse

This one is “priced firm at $10,000” — good luck with that! From Brittany: “….’This is a steal.'”

But really, this one takes the cake. Can you even put a price tag on the opportunity to lease a wingless Pegasus? From Brittany: “Do people think things like this are cute?”

UntitledButtercup is a real, live wingless Pegasus (picture with wings shows her inner self). She’s available for lease at an equally magical riding facility in Ridgeville for $300 per month, which is an outstanding deal for a wingless Pegasus.

If you are not familiar with the wingless Pegasi, here is some more info about them: They are sweet and tolerant and full of hope and wonderfulness. Sometimes, they fart rainbows (unfortunately Buttercup has yet to toot colors, but we’re hoping with the right lessor, she might).

One more head-scratcher from Gianina: “A seller who tells it like it is… Horse for sale, or ‘fat pig’ rather — lol, Best of Craigslist!!”
