Good morning Horse Nation! And happy Memorial Day. Be sure to take a moment to remember those who have died in military service.

All life is a precious, temporary gift. Throughout the weekend, our sister site Eventing Nation had the unfortunate duty of reporting on the unfolding tragedy of a trailer accident carrying some of our nation’s top eventing horses, belonging to Michael and Nathalie Pollard. Three of the six horses on the trailer perished as a result of the accident, and Horse Nation sends our deepest condolences to their owners and team.

We live in a fast-paced, whirlwind world where it’s easy to forget that anything, or anybody, can be taken away from us at any given moment. So here’s our homework assignment for you today: Hug your horse. Hug your family. Hug your friends. Hug your dog. Let them know how much they mean to you.
