It may still be a couple weeks out, but a post yesterday on Ovation’s Facebook page reminded us that June 9 is a date worth circling on our calendar: International Helmet Awareness Day.

The first National Helmet Awareness Day was held in 2010, followed by the first International Helmet Awareness Day in 2011. The campaign was propelled into action when Riders4Helmets.com teamed up with leading helmet manufacturers to host an event that not only raised awareness of helmet safety, but also motivated participating retailers all over the world to offer discounts on helmets to equestrians on that day. Riders4Helmets will also be hosting a series of live webinars at www.riders4helmets.com that will feature a variety of guests including U.S. Olympian Courtney King-Dye.
