No Kidding: Horse found swimming in the ocean two miles off California shore

According to CNN, the horse spooked during a beach photo shoot on Tuesday, bolted and disappeared. The 7-year-old white Arabian, named William, was reported as missing, then calls started coming in about “a horse swimming out to sea.”

Santa Barbara firefighters along with lifeguards and a dispatched helicopter located the horse two miles off shore in the Santa Barbara channel, still wearing its saddle and bridle, swimming toward some oil rigs. Rescuers put floats beneath the horse and towed it back to shore. The rescue took over two hours.
