Oh Crap Monday

Monday is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest batch of reader-submitted “Oh Crap” photos and videos!

Jacqueline Biggs: “Here for your consideration are a couple photos I took of my 14 year-old daughter Tessa schooling her horse, Manila over a ditch.  Manila will enthusiasticaly jump any above-ground obstacle, but the ditch concept was a whole new thing, for both horse and rider!

At one of the first refusals, their heads connected. Oh crap!  My daughter got a fat lip, but they kept at it.   And then, as you can see, once Manila decided to go for it, she launched like a rocket.

Tessa stayed on, Manila figured out how to jump a ditch like a normal horse, and a few weeks later, they successfully completed their first 3-day event together!

You could maybe call these ‘DITCH NO,’  ‘DITCH YES.'”

Jenna S: “We had a home show last weekend, and I decided to enter the Gambler’s Choice with my pony to give us more entries. It has been about five years since I jumped this pony three feet, so when I had a wild hair and pointed him at one of the 3’3 fences, hilarity ensued. I stuck it, though! Bless his honest heart!”

Karen Webb: “This sequence is from November 2014 at Chattahoochee Hills, GA, Three Phase Schooling show at Beginner Novice.  It’s me and my horse and my horse was having an off day and just kind of ran out of steam and quit on me.  Fortunately, neither of us hit the dirt, or was hurt, and we retired to go compete another day.  At our next outing (this past Spring at Poplar Place) we went out Novice and won it.” (Click on the first photo to scroll through the gallery.)
