#TBT: Best of Craigslist — Face Palm Edition

For this week’s #TBT, we’re bringing back the Best of Craigslist. From spelling errors to bizarre trades to just plain bad ideas, this one’s got it all. 

We’ll open this week’s collection with a couple of horses that carry the weight of the world on their backs … or at least the weight of the whole family.

Major is a 9 year old grade Thoroughbred gelding he was registered but I never got the papers from the previous owner he has been every where and done just about everything he started out as a cattle horse now is a trail horse for anyone who knows how to ride. He is not a beginner horse. He has been in parades been to the fair he goes threw water, mud, corn fields, been fields, trees any thing any where. He love kids and is a pocket pet he will meet you at the gate or anywhere you are. He will put his head in the halter for you some times even get it off the gate and bring it to you. We have 7 kids around here and they all love to play with him they throw big beach balls at him and he will fallow them. If you are walking him you don’t need to hold the rope he follows he will run if you do and stop when you stop he is an all around good boy. He stands for ferrier you can crawl around under over him and threw his legs pull his ears pull his tail he will not move or kick the little kids hug his legs. The only reason I am selling him is I have 8 horses and 7 kids and don’t have enough time for all of them. Come take a look if you like him. He will be in parades all month untill he gets a new home. So I will be posting new pictures the whole time. He is 16.3 hands and an easy keeper if your short he will stand against anything you want to use to get on. Im only 5.3 so I use a lot of things. We’ll move on to some tack, from Leah: “You know your saddle is ugly when you toss in a free saddle to sweeten the deal.”

How about a swap deal? From Michelle: “Wish I had thought of this as a kid! Trade my fake pony for your real one!”

Very unique carousel rearing horse, real horse hair mane, real leather tack. Over 5 ft tall!! Old…. Paid $1500 at Estate sale. Have been told by antique collector that this could be worth up to triple what was paid…. Always the center of attention and conversation piece.

Would trade for a trail horse, must be SAFE! Need for intermediate riders that just want a “steady eddy” on the trails when they come to visit. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just SAFE!! I will listen to serious cash offers as well.

Well, this seller gave it a good shot … from Michelle:

This horse is very gentle around people and pets.

She is broken and rides smoothly.

Saddle and tackle are available for only an extra $100.00.

On 14 April 15 she received a through exam and shots from the veterinarian.

11 year old Percheron stallion up for sale possible lease. Cesar stands at a solid 16.1 hands and is around 1400 lbs. I have had him since he was 6 months old so my price at 2,000 is very firm. I bought him in 2004 through a PMU farm up in Quebec Canada. I would have gelded him years ago but every time I had the vet come up to do it he was a unwilling dude (he saw his brother get gelded and he was having no part of that business) He is a very sweet stallion and will stand to bathe but still working on the nerves, talking him through it seems to works. He picks up feet, ties extremely well and has much respect now, I’m not going to lie though in the past he was a real stink about pulling me around and I am proud to say that I have his respect now and got it without a stud chain (I am not against using them I just personally think different horses need different training tools and I felt he really didn’t need a chain). He has been lunging really well and the next step is saddling up to take him for a drive. I am very attached to this dude so maybe someone out there might be interested in a part lease but I am not looking to trade so please don’t ask. In the pictures the sorrels are his baby’s and the one with the blaze was his baby mama.
