Monday Morning Feed From SmartPak: Why Use ColiCare?

Colic is every horse owner’s worst fear, and SmartPak’s ColiCare program can give some peace of mind.

What is SmartPak’s ColiCare program? You can learn all the details on their website, but here’s the gist: you get $7500 reimbursed if your horse has to undergo colic surgery, as long as you meet the requirements of the program. And they’re pretty simple:

1. Order a ColiCare eligible product from SmartPak. Currently, the eligible supplements are SmartDigest Ultra, SmartGI Ultra, SmartCombo Senior Ultra and SmartCombo Ultra pellets.

2. Enroll in ColiCare online or over the phone. No documentation is needed up-front, but your horse must reside in the U.S., be weaned and at least 5 months old, and be under the care of a licensed vet.

3. Meet annual wellness requirements. Your horse must have an annual physical, vaccinations and dental exam performed by your vet, as well as be on a deworming program developed with your vet.
