Thursday Morning Feed from Fleeceworks

In case you’ve been living under a rock – it’s WEG week! What’s on tap today? Well, endurance begins today, as does eventing. Para-dressage and reining will continue competition as well. Top image of Italy’s Stefano Massignan riding Yellow Jersey at WEG in 2010 courtesy of Kit Houghton/FEI.

We broke into the archives and dug up some great footage of each sport competing today from previous WEG competition. What better way to get pumped up? We thought so, too.

But first! How about some love for Team USA’s reining team, who took home their fourth consecutive gold medal this week? Isn’t that pretty much unheard of? Whatever their secret is, we’re loving it!

As an English rider, I find these top-notch spins dizzying, further heightening my sense of admiration for these badass riders. My cowboy hat is off to you (if I had one, that is)!

Speaking of Western riders, if you’re in the market for a new pad, Fleeceworks has a new one that is just about to hit the market.

This exciting new pad has many of the features that Fleeceworks customers have come to love:

Fleeceworks™ Western: Now the Therapeutic Benefits of Fleeceworks Australian Merino Sheepskin and Therawool™  are available for Western riders and their horses. Our newest pads provide a vital thermal balancing layer to pull excess heat and moisture away from the horse’s back which  allows those muscles to work at maximum capacity without risk of overheating. Aussie Merino breathable and hydrophilic (able to store 35% of its own weight in liquid) qualities assure top equine performance and comfort.

The ultimate Western underpad. A perfect compliment to your Show Blanket, whether in the pen or arena, Fleeceworks’ unique design provides the ultimate fit. Impact protection is provided by combination of sheepskin/wool loft, natural cotton quilting  and eco-felt lining.

Be on the lookout for more information on this great product as it becomes available for sale!

Here’s a throwback to Shawn Flarida’s run in 2010 when the Games were in Lexington:

How about some endurance love? Ok, this is making me wish that WEG was in Kentucky again, so I could be there without having to show my passport.

Don’t forget those amazing para-dressage riders! These guys are the definition of resilient and competitive.

And, last but not least, those nutty eventers begin competition today.

Go WEG, Go Riding, and Go Fleeceworks!
