Continuing on the “back in the day” show hunter theme we started last week, let's have a look at another unique vintage competition: the Hunt Team Class.
A huge thanks, once again, to Bernie Traurig for archiving and sharing this incredible horse show footage. Here, Bernie Traurig is riding his thoroughbred Trouble Maker in a Hunt Team Class at Piping Rock Horse Show, Long Island, NY, in 1960. As Bernie notes in the video, he went on to win the AHSA Medal and ASPCA Maclay Finals on Trouble Maker the next year. In addition to Bernie’s successful career in the hunter ring, he achieved great success in show jumping, dressage and eventing. Today he maintains a popular website, EquestrianCoach.com, featuring instructional videos from top riders.
