‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Expectation vs. Reality…

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

Picture it. You’re taking a lovely family beach vacation. There’s turquoise water, white sand, warm sun — everything you could want. Then someone comes up with the brilliant idea to take a horseback ride on the beach. This is a great idea. Ever since you wer a kid and watched The Black Stallion, this is what you’ve wanted to do.

The iconic scene of Alec running bareback on a remote desert isle dances through your head. You’re excited. You’re ready to check this item off your bucket list. Expectations are high…

Then reality sets in.

Instead of a nice beach ride, some of these folks got dumped and a couple had to be taken to a local hospital to evaluate neck and arm injuries. Talk about an “oh crap” moment.

It does appear that everyone was mostly fine and that the horses were caught and returned to their stable.
