Let’s all take a moment to meet Samuel Wolfenden of SW Farriers.
Here’s what we know.
He’s been a farrier in England for 16 years.
Sam went to work as an apprentice for his father when he was sixteen. The apprenticeship lasted for four years, after which Sam continued to work with his dad for another four years. Eight years later, Sam is a thriving entrepreneur and has his own apprentice named Tom… but he still collaborates with his dad.
He doesn’t own a horse.
Though he did own and ride horses when he was younger, Sam admits he just doesn’t have the time nowadays.
Averaging sixty horses a week, he also admits, “I do get my horse fix at work.”

He’s proper fit.
He follows a Hyrox training protocol that combines running, rowing, strength exercises like sled pushes, and obstacle courses. According to the Hyrox website, “The race starts with a 1 km run, followed by 1 functional movement, which repeats 8 times, taking place in large indoor venues, creating a unique stadium like atmosphere for all participants.”
He does all this before going to work.

He’s a charmer.
Though his social media dates back to 2019, it looks like he didn’t regularly post until 2023. Since then, he’s accrued almost one million followers on Instagram and over seven million likes on TikTok.

His videos are a strange mix of ASMR, farrier knowledge, talking-head vlogs, and blatant man candy, with the followers being an equally eclectic mix. The comments are a gold mine ripe for mindless scrolling.
All jokes aside, the guy has a way with horses.
Sam seems genuinely kind to every horse he interacts with. He never shies away from a good scratch session, and the horses love him.
