‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Mud Season Is Almost Here

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week…

…so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

Although some of us are still in the grips of what seems like a polar vortex, most equestrians know that we’re only one temperature shift away from mud season. In my neck of the woods, that seems to be especially true as it looks like we’re going from lovely, snow-covered pastures to three days of rain this week. Sigh…

My problems aside, as miserable as mud season is for those of us who manage horses, it’s equally as enjoyable for those equines. After all, a dirty horse is a happy horse… right? And if that’s correct, this is about the happiest horse around. For the poor, poor person stuck grooming this horse, it’s certainly a pretty crappy situation. 💩🐴
