Lighthoof Tuesday Video: Unusual Valuable Skills

Three things to always carry in your cruiser: a halter, a lead rope, and in Texas, apparently a lasso.

According to the video description, this teen was riding along with police when they were called to round up a stray miniature horse, who led them on a merry nocturnal chase through a Haltom City, Texas neighborhood.

Fortunately for everyone, the teen’s apparent rodeo skills came in handy — and the fact that he apparently always travels with a rope handy. (Maybe someone else provided the rope; maybe everyone in Texas always has a rope conveniently stashed under the front seat — details are fuzzy on this point but we’re gonna go with it.)

If this ride-along was an interview situation to see if this teen would be a good fit for police service, we bet he left a favorable impression on the officers. A happy ending for all!
