Standing Ovation by Ovation Riding
Today’s honoree: calendar sale to benefit New Vocations.
In need of a Christmas gift for a horse lover in your life? Want to get ahead for 2018 AND benefit a great charity?
Photography Tracey Buyce (a Horse Nation regular: see some of our past pieces about her work here, here and here) has created a beautiful equine fine art calendar for 2018 with 100% of the proceeds to benefit New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. With luxurious paper quality and dimensions of 12″ by 18″, this calendar is more art than organization tool — and with your purchase benefiting off-track Thoroughbreds in need of a home, how can you go wrong?
New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is the largest racehorse adoption program in the United States, helping to rehome off-the-track Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds to forever homes where they can begin their second careers.
New Vocations’ mission statement is as follows:
To stand in the gap for noncompetitive, often injured racehorses providing a peaceful environment and skilled hands to assist in their development as pleasure mounts. To place these horses in experienced loving homes that will continue their education so each has a skill and therefore, a future.
To date, New Vocations has adopted out over 6,000 horses out of locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania, with an ongoing capital campaign to develop a farm in Kentucky to serve both as adoption center and aftercare showcase to the public. New Vocations also leads the way in education about the off-track horse with program director Anna Ford authoring a guide on retraining the OTTB.
Today is the last day to order a calendar to guarantee Christmas delivery, so head over to Tracey Buyce’s photography website to order yours today! Calendars are $45 — and remember that 100% of proceeds go to New Vocations.
Many thanks thanks to Ovation Riding for their support of both Horse Nation and individuals and organizations that are doing good work in the horse world.
