Best of Craigslist, Volume 57

It’s a big, bad, Best of Craigslist blowout.

It’s been a long time since our last “Best of Craigslist” collection, and I confess that they’ve been gathering in my inbox like falling leaves accumulating in the corners of the arena. I’ve pulled out the rake and collected your ad submissions into a neatly-organized pile for your reading pleasure. (When applicable, each photo links to the original ad.)

We’ll jump right into that pile of leaves feet-first: this ad is correct, you definitely need tact to work with draft horses. Submitted by Lynn:

Pioneer forecart new condition, with brakes and bench seat. (SOLD) paid $1400, selling for $800. Team logging harness set by Midwest Leather, new never used, cost $2000, selling for $1000.00. Big Horn draft saddle, barely used, cost $1200, selling for $500. Draft bridle, $25.00.

With two ads placed within 24 hours for the same horse, I guess that maybe you can pick which version and which price interests you the most. Submitted by Catherine:

Fantastic two year old! This boy is really something special. Practically glued to the ground, has a good mind, and a lot of heart with little encouragement will clear any obsticle and cover quite a bit of ground. He stands well, bathes, stands for ferrier, loads, ride exceptionally on trails, good around cars, tractors, and dogs . Close 16 hands and still growing . Gaited. Never taken him over anything more than fallen trees on trails, due to his young age, but he cleared fences to reach my mare, Before he was gelded. 😉 sweet, very curious, and veary willing to please. I have too many horses to give them all the proper amount of attention and training, I don’t have to rehome any time soon but have two foals that in the next few years will need more attention. The longer I keep the boy the more training he will receive and his price will go up, if your interested please give me a call ,serious inquiries only! 🙂

Smokey is a thorough bred pure bred black bay. We do not have papers. He does have a brand on his upper gum. He is almost 10 years old.

Smokey is a great horse when ridden regularly. We had are kids on him and he did great. It has been a few months since ridden and he gets a little difficult and just go fast.

Possible trade for cattle.
Please call or text for more info.

This is the more elusive, past-tense form of broodmare, submitted by Katelynn:

Christina, who submitted the last ad in this collection, quipped “I just hope it doesn’t have llamanitis!” We’re concerned that they may have misspelled “alpaca/grass mix.”
