Best of JN: The Newest Thing in Tall Boots? High-Top Kicks
In the interest of full disclosure, Jumper Nation readers were thoroughly horrified.
Possibly the most significant design change to the traditional boot/chap system in 200 years just hit the market, and it’s got an old school twist:
A French company called Free Jump has released a new design which transforms the chaps and boots system from a stuffy, centuries-old tradition of spit and polish to an urban streetwear look that incorporates canvas and suede into high-top kicks. It’s a dramatic update, while still providing all the safety and security benefits of your everyday chaps and boots.
Embracing the sweeping craze of elevated athleisure wear popular with today’s millenials, Free Jump’s hybrid boot for riders who want to rock at the barn and seamlessly transition to an afternoon out with friends (assuming you tread carefully).
While the endurance/trail world has embraced a more sneaker-like footwear for several years, this is the first to be marketed to the jumper scene, and arguably the first to incorporate an urban fad like the high top sneaker.
What do you think, friends? A loopy look designed to put George Morris in his grave, or an updated alternative to a tired tradition?
