‘Tis the season to dress your horse in embarrassing hats.

Seasons come and go but year after year, it will always be a good time to slap a bunch of holiday regalia on your ever-patient steed and take cute photographs. After all, that’s a time-honored equestrian tradition. We had no shortage of reader-submitted photos this week for our 24-hour photo challenge: here are 17 horses decked out in their holiday best.
