Fantasy Farm Thursday: $15 Million California Oasis
Fancy chandeliers in the barn aisle are always a good sign.
There’s good news and there’s bad news. The good news is that the three world-class arenas are okay, I guess. I mean, one is a Grand Prix jumper field with water jumps and banks in it (EWW) but whatever, it’s fine. The bad news is: you’re pretty surrounded on all sides by wine vineyards, a nature preserve seashore, and Silicon Valley. I know. Who could live like this?
Set on 62 acres of pristinely maintained “A” circuit facilities, Kilham Farm is truly the definition of a fantasy farm. In addition to the aforementioned Grand Prix field, there’s also an all-weather covered arena and a large outdoor sand arena with flawless footing, and a shaded outdoor eurocruiser.
The equine living spaces feature lovely and safe stalls and stall doors, big runs, and dry paddocks with plenty of shade and shelter. There are three barns with absolutely perfect design and detail — from the most high-tech rubber mats in the stalls to the hand-crafted Spanish doors to the magnificent chandelier lighting in the aisle way — this is where you want to be when you need your “happy place.”
The farm is also equipped with automatic waterers, wash racks with hot and cold water, loads of crossties and absolutely stunning natural wood-paneled tack rooms with all the little details. Sadly, the racks full of CWD saddles and undoubtedly equally wonderful bridles are not included (as far as we know – but hey, at $15 million, never hurts to ask!)
As far as we can tell, there is not a residence on site, but there’s plenty of room to build, or you could just live in a really nice tack room, which is what I would do if I were a rich genius who didn’t care what people thought. The property is currently listed for $15,000,000, and interested parties can see more photos and learn more at the original listing on Sotheby’s.
