Horses in Art: ‘Still Water’ by Nic Fiddian-Green

Learn more about this eyecatching work!

Still Water graces Marble Arch of London, England, a 33-foot-tall bronze sculpture of a horse head captured as though the horse were drinking. Amidst the bustle of London, the graceful shape of a horse’s head provides a quiet contrast, creating its own quiet zone of peace and tranquility.

Still Water was sculpted by Nic Fiddian-Green and completed in 2011: the sculpture is a larger, slightly different version of an earlier piece on the same site titled Horse at Water. This earlier piece was moved to the home of the couple who had commissioned it.
