This is the Best Spoof of the ’52 Thoroughbreds’ Post We’ve Ever Seen

And its creator, Genna Grace, is hereby inducted into the Horse Nation Hall of Fame.

Show of hands, please: how many of you have ever had the infamous “52 Thoroughbreds” post shared on your timeline?

(And if you are thinking to yourself, “OMG! I’ve got to go help these horses!” please refer here to where we discuss this and three other internet horse myths that refuse to die.)

The long and short of it is that at one point back in 2011 there were in fact 52 Thoroughbreds on a farm in desperate and sudden need of homes. The key part of this story is the year 2011: the horses all found homes within four days of the original post, and yet somehow this post refuses to die. Like a cockroach, it just keeps on coming back around to haunt the newsfeeds of horse lovers everywhere.

Which is why we were so pleased to find this post in the Facebook group OTTB CONNECT by Genna Grace:

Genna credits her husband with triggering the idea when he asked “what if the 52 horses were Breyer models?” The only thing perhaps more hilarious than this post are the comments, as fellow equestrians played up every trope of the rescuer known to the internet:
