‘Oh Crap’ Monday: They May Want to Stick With Cowboy Stuff…

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

What do you get when you take the top cowboys and cowgirls from the National Western Stock Show in Denver and put them on a ski slope?

A lot of yard sales, that’s what. (For those of you not in the know, a yard sale is a term used when someone wipes out while skiing or snowboarding and their gear goes everywhere.)

To be fair, we have to give these cowboys and cowgirls a lot of credit. Many have never skied or snowboarded before. Be that as it may, they were good sports and participated in the 50th Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill on January 20th at Steamboat Resort. The event was started 50 years ago by Olympic Silver medalist, Billy Kidd and by Larry Mahan, and these cowboys and cowgirls are continuing the tradition — despite the large number of “oh crap” moments we’re sure many of them experienced.

Go forth and tackle your Monday, Horse Nation.
