The NFR Experience: Stetson Country Christmas

Marcella is on the ground at the WNFR in Las Vegas, Nevada. She’s enjoying experiencing everything the massive event has to offer — from the rodeo itself to hubbub surrounding it. Today she gives us an inside look at the Stetson Country Christmas.

Stetson was founded in 1865 and grew to become an American icon. John Stetson is said to have given birth to the world’s first cowboy hat. Over the years, these hats have become a leader in headwear and a trusted brand the world over. Stetson prides itself on creating quality products that are built to last.

Stetson Country Christmas is a historic trade show in Las Vegas, where cowboys and cowgirls can shop western merchandise. It takes place during the National Finals Rodeo. This year’s show runs from December 5 – 15 from 9:00AM – 5:00PM at the Rio Las Vegas Hotel.

This trade show had something for everyone. From kids to seasoned cowboys and cowgirls, the shopping options were endless. Here’s some of the cool things I found while perusing the Rio convention center rooms:

One of my favorite parts of the Stetson Country Christmas was talking to and interviewing some of the vendors. Many of the vendors made handcrafted, one-of-a-kind items. All of them were so friendly, welcoming, and grateful for the business.

Wild Wire West was one of the great businesses I had the opportunity to chat with. This company is family owned and specializes in handcrafted personalized western and cattle brand items. Items range from 14 karat gold to silver pieces. It was an amazing experience to watch company owner Mark Brown as he handcrafted each piece as they were ordered. Check out their products here.

It was a special experience not only because of all the special handmade items, but also because of the experience of talking to the craftsmen that pour their hearts and souls into each product.
