Nonprofit Funding From The Foundation for the Horse

The Foundation for the Horse is accepting applications for funding from nonprofit organizations that share its mission to improve the welfare of horses. The application deadline is June 5.

The Foundation’s mission area supporting Horses at Risk focuses on programs for domestic equines as well as international aid through working equine projects. This grant opportunity supports programs and projects that improve the direct care and/or increase the education available to veterinarians and other care providers of these horses at risk.

Grant applications are open to programs that support domestic horses impacted by disease, abuse, neglect, natural or man-made disasters, including disaster preparedness training, and equines in-transition for adoption and other careers. In addition, grant applications are open to programs that benefit working equines, particularly those in developing countries or impoverished areas.

The Foundation annually supports equine organizations, universities, and others that develop and implement programs that improve equine welfare. Priority emphasis is given to applications with the most impact on the welfare of the horse on a national and international scope, and those affecting multiple horses or in need of emergency funding.

Funds are not provided to individuals or for-profit companies or organizations.

Application instructions, requirements, and selection criteria are available on The Foundation’s website at www.foundationforthehorse.org/foundation-general-grants/
