‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Green Hunt Horse

Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.

So, I’m not a Fox Hunter. But I’ve always said that if I were to make the transition to English, Fox Hunting looks like something I could get behind. Galloping horses through a field with a bunch of other people who seem willing to laugh at equine ridiculousness and imbibe a bit afterward (or maybe during?)? Heck yes. These sound like my people.

That said, I’m also a huge wimp. I am very afraid of the ground. It looks hard. I’m old. I don’t bounce. All the things.

So when I saw this video, all I could think was “oh crap”… as I laughed along with this incredibly patient and go-with-the flow rider. The notion of bringing along a green hunt horse is more than my wimpy 40-something brain can handle. But this is one heck of a video and definitely should make all of us appreciate those who can season a hunt horse.

Laugh along with this rider and be sure to have the volume up… unless you’re at work. In which case, maybe wait until after work. There’s a fair amount of swearing.
