‘Oh Crap’ Monday: Abscess…
Monday already is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest “oh crap” moment.
It’s mud season in many parts of the Northern Hemisphere. As if that weren’t just the crappiest thing in and of itself, what makes it even worse is that it wreaks havoc on our horses’ hooves. What does that mean? Well, among other things, it means abscesses. Lots of abscesses. Especially if you don’t have a designated dry lot and your horses are out more than they are in.
Gotta love when your friends are posting amazing pictures riding in the snow or among fallen leaves, and you’re just chilling in your barn, playing with epsom salt, diapers and duct tape. There’s not much else you can do but think “Oh crap,” wrap that hoof, and wait it out…
Go forth and tackle your Monday, Horse Nation.
