Road to the Horse Will Host the First Collegiate Colt Starting Challenge
The first Road to the Horse Collegiate Colt Starting Challenge will take place in Fort Worth, Texas on February 5 and 6, 2020.
Since its inception in 2003, Road to the Horse has had a passion for education. It has been driven to inspire and educate fans on the fundamentals of natural horsemanship. As a way to further this commitment to the key principle of building a solid foundation in horses, Road to the Horse is now branching out into the collegiate equestrian arena. In conjunction with the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and Western Horseman, Road to the Horse is proud to host the very first Road to the Horse Collegiate Colt Starting Challenge which will take place in Fort Worth, Texas on February 5 and 6, 2020.
Over two days of competition, three top collegiate teams will each gentle a 6666 Ranch filly. The teams will earn their spot during the Stock Horse of Texas World Championship Show, which is held on October 25 – 27, 2019. The two top teams finishing in Division I and the top team from Division II will have the opportunity to compete for Road to the Horse scholarships and prizes. Stock Horse Team Coaches will select the team members who will represent their college or university in the Road to the Horse 2020 Collegiate Colt Starting Challenge from the student body.
“There is no better way to create a legacy, than to invest in the future,” says Western Horseman Publisher, Ernie King. “We couldn’t be more excited to work with the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo and Stock Horse of Texas to create an amazing platform to showcase the nation’s top collegiate teams.
