Love Retired Racers? New Vocations Wants YOU!
Love off-track racehorses? Have a big social media following? Put it work for New Vocations!
Seeking to leverage the power of social media and find horse-loving influencers, New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program is seeking social media ambassadors to help more horses find homes. The ambassador challenge runs the month of February — so there’s only 24 hours left to apply!
As the largest racehorse adoption program in the United States, New Vocations has placed over 6,000 retired Thoroughbred and Standardbred ex-racehorses in competitive and recreational homes since its founding in 1992. With two locations in Ohio plus locations in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and New York, New Vocations continues to set the standard for racehorse rehabilitation, retraining and rehoming.
Always seeking new and creative ways to spread the word about retired racehorses and their many values as sport or pleasure mounts in a variety of disciplines, New Vocations is seeking up to ten social media ambassadors to help. New Vocations seeks individuals with experience with the program and a love for retired racehorses, who also have a large social media following (a minimum of 1,500 followers combined on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter).
Interested applicants need to show evidence that they post on social media daily and create a 30-second testimonial video answering why they adopted an ex-racehorse, why they love Thoroughbreds or Standardbreds, and why they feel they would be a good ambassador. Additionally, applicants should create a photo post about the competition and why they want to be an ambassador, including the hashtags #NVAmbassadorand and #rehabretrainrehome.
Ten ambassadors will be selected from the pool of applicants. Ambassador terms will last six months. Upon the completion of the six month ambassador role, a panel of judges will place the ambassadors according to their performance, with the winner receiving $250 and $700 in adoption credit towards a New Vocations horse.
