Thursday Video: TB Makeover By The Numbers

The Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover has been growing steadily over the past few years — but to get a real idea of the numbers involved, take a look at this cool stats video!

If you love crunching numbers and looking at statistics and data, you’ll love this “By The Numbers” video from the Retired Racehorse Project. We’re exactly two weeks away from the first day of the RRP’s banner event, the Thoroughbred Makeover — and it’s going to be one for the record books!

The Thoroughbred Makeover is an annual horse show where ex-racehorses, coming off the track in the past two years with minimal retraining before December 1 of the previous year, compete in nine disciplines seeking the ultimate popular-vote title of America’s Most Wanted Thoroughbred. In addition to the competition, the Thoroughbred Makeover is a symposium featuring plenty of educational panels and presentations. New for this year is the Makeover Master Class, which we detailed earlier this week.

Take a look at this video to learn more about the class of 2018: where they were bred, details on their racing careers, and a glimpse at how much the Retired Racehorse Project has grown over the past few years.

The Thoroughbred Makeover is more than just a horse show — it’s the most visible part of the Retired Racehorse Project’s mission to increase demand and value for off-track Thoroughbreds as sporthorses. If these numbers are any indicator, the RRP is making a real change!
