EcoVet Performance of the Week: Cade McCutcheon
The NRHA Derby is taking place right now in Oklahoma City, and US Reining Squad member Cade McCutcheon is off to a great start in the Non-Pro class!
Many of us in the horse world talk about having “horses in our blood” — a need to be in the saddle that seems to be written into our very DNA. Cade McCutcheon takes that equestrian pedigree to a whole other level. That’s what happens, after all, when your dad is Tom McCutcheon, your mother is Mandy McCutcheon and your grandfather is Tim McQuay.
Cade McCutcheon might still be young enough to compete in the youth classes, but he’s taking the reining world by storm. He’s the youngest member of the US Reining Squad that will represent America at this autumn’s World Equestrian Games in Tryon, and he’s the current leader in the Non-Pro Derby in Oklahoma City.
Watch his leading ride on Dual Reality below. He’s also sitting third with Customized Dually. In second place? Mom Mandy, aboard Hollywood Starburst.
Keeping up with the McCutcheons is our kind of reality TV. Best of luck to the McCutcheon family in the NRHA Derby, and we’ll be watching eagerly to see Cade, plus father Tom, represent us at WEG!
The rest of the US Reining Squad includes Casey Deary, Dan Huss and Jordan Larson.
Go riding!
