World Equestrian Brands Helmet Cam: KY 3-Day

In honor of Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event week, we’re rewinding back to 2016’s event to ride along with Doug Payne and Vandiver — with the added benefit of Doug’s commentary!

Happy Land Rover Kentucky 3-Day Event Week! The first CCI4* of the year kicks off with the jog today, formerly known as Rolex and now title sponsored by Land Rover.

The biggest draw of the entire event is always cross-country day, and the 2016 course was certainly no slouch — aided in part by the weather. When you’re watching from home on the live stream, it’s hard to truly grasp how long and grueling the cross-country course may be, especially when the feed cuts from rider to rider.

That’s what makes this helmet cam from Doug Payne such a treat: not only do we get the full, uncut rider’s-eye view of the course, but we also get his commentary about his approach to each complex, what Vandiver or “Quinn” felt like and his strategy and technique to bring his horse home safe and sound.
