7 Photos From the Miami Beach Global Champions Tour That Are Too Perfect For Words
It’s like the ultimate spring break, as far as we’re concerned: warm temperatures, tropical waters and world-class showjumping right on the beach.
Great equestrian facilities are timeless: Wellington has become a cultural icon for equestrians in the winter months, and the timeless classic style of the Devon Horse Show grounds will remain eternal, we hope, for all time.
That said, the ability of the Longines Global Champions Tour to build an equestrian arena that is simultaneously world class and temporary in some of the world’s most beautiful locations is freakin’ awesome. And how we wish we could have been a rail bird for last weekend’s tour stop in — drumroll please — Miami Beach.
Because sorry, classic equestrian facilities, you just can’t beat this view. Like, I mean, COME ON. That’s a show jumping arena… ON. THE. BEACH.
And the whole beachy shebang is along for the ride. Like all the people in their swimwear hanging on that outside rail, and some PARASAILING going on in the background.
Or maybe this casually-placed cruise ship is more to your liking.
Look at these happy beaming sun-kissed topless people clapping and cheering! They just wandered in from their game of beach volleyball and suddenly found themselves at an equestrian event, and they’re so happy to be here.
Sorry, but even the blue Dixon Oval at Devon can’t come close to that shade of sea in the background.
Edwina is smiling partially because she just won a leg of the Longines Global Champions Tour, but partially because she can’t believe she’s taking a victory gallop about 10 feet from the freaking ocean. YOLO, Edwina. Congratulations!
“Lemme just Snapchat this to all of my friends because no one is gonna believe this.” Same, lady, same.
