If you had “masterclass in show jumping” on your Christmas list, consider that item checked off.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever found yourself in one of those typical debates with a non-rider, trying to convince them that horseback riding is in fact challenging, the rider is doing quite a bit of work and it deserves to be recognized as a true athletic endeavor.

We’re willing to bet that most of you have your hands up. Now keep your hand raised if you’ve ever tried to show those non-riders a video of something epic, like a pee-your-pants cross-country course or show jumping round over massive fences. Hands are probably still up.

The only problem is when you have a guy like Alberto Zorzi aboard the supermare Contanga, who despite the heights and physics-defying turns, manages to make the Turkish Airlines Olympia Grand Prix look like a casual stroll through the park. It’s a tragic yet impressive fact that the better the horseman, the easier he makes it look — and this is a true masterclass.

Well done, Mr. Zorzi and Contanga– that was a real treat to watch.
