I used to wonder at the phenomenon that made it completely okay to watch a horse do some repetitive motion over and over again to paroxysms of delight and rapture on my end, while also being driven totally nuts watching someone else (like, say, my husband) do something repetitive for about ten seconds.

Then I just learned to shrug and go “ah, horses.”

Prime example: watching this Standardbred going to town with his best friend, ball:
