IHSA National Championships Social Media Roundup
A behind-the-scenes peek at the action!
The Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association’s Nationals Championships took place May 4-7 at the Kentucky Horse Park of Lexington, welcoming college teams and individuals who had qualified through a season of competition. The IHSA competes in a catch-ride format, with students classified into levels based on experience and riding a draw horse with no warm-up time. Hunt seat competes on the flat and over fences, and western competes in horsemanship and reining. Riders are welcome from beginner through open.
2017 marks the IHSA’s 50th anniversary, so the National Finals were particularly festive this year. Some participating colleges’ graduations took place over this weekend, so Nationals-qualified seniors were specially recognized to honor the graduation ceremony they had missed in order to compete.
