Video: The Treat String Challenge
Horses stuck inside during this snowy winter? Here’s a fun idea — watch these guys try to conquer the “treat string challenge!”
Winter weather got your horses stuck inside, clawing at the walls and chewing the door wishing they could get out? Have a stall-bound horse recuperating from an injury who needs something to pass the time? Here’s a fun solution:
The treat string or “treat kabob” is a simple, healthy and low-cost DIY way to keep your horses entertained: simply core out or bore a hole through apples and carrots, run some baling twine through, tie and hang. Be sure to take the baling string out of the stall when your horse has successfully eaten all of the snacks! No need for expensive or sugary stall snacks — just head to the produce aisle.
Go riding!
