SpectraVET Performance of the Week: The Elf & The Turkey
The Liverpool International Horse Show hosted the world’s most adorable class: the Didy Morgan Mini Major, complete with costumes!
Liverpool International Horse Show in Great Britain is known for its top international competition at right around the new year, but also for a slate of unique and exciting classes that are lots of fun for the spectators. One such class is the Mini Major, sponsored by Didy Morgan, which pairs a lucky young rider with a top professional to relay-race over a course of fences. As an added attraction, teams wear costumes.
And if that’s not enough to tempt your fancy to watch the winning round by Great Britain Nations Cup rider Guy Williams and talented pony rider Luli Loveridge, consider that Loveridge is dressed like an adorable wee Christmas elf (which we’d expect from a pony rider!) while Williams is wearing a turkey suit.
Yep. A TURKEY SUIT.
That is the most talented turkey I’ve ever seen. And Luli Loveridge and her blazing-fast pony are certainly no slouches either! This fast, clean round from both riders was good enough to be a full second quicker than the competition.
The Mini Major is a great experience both for the top-ranked national riders to enjoy themselves, helping to guide and inspire the next generation, and for young riders to get the trip of a lifetime under the bright lights of Liverpool with a full coliseum cheering them on. We can’t wait for next year!
Go riding!
