The 2016 Breeders’ Cup is just 24 hours away! Each race packs a riveting story, making this one of the most exciting weekend in horse racing: rivalries abound, unfinished business from previous championships looms, international duels seek to settle. Here’s your need-to-know guide:
Who: 157 of the best Thoroughbreds in racing from all over the world over a variety of surfaces and distances. Entries qualify through Breeders’ Cup Challenge races as well a points system based on major graded stakes.
What: A two-day festival consisting of 13 races, awarding $26 million in purses
When: First Breeders’ Cup post on Friday, November 4 is 2:25 PM PDT; first Breeders’ Cup post on Saturday, November 5 is 12:05 PM PDT. View the full schedule here.

How to watch:
- NBC Sports Network will cover the Breeders’ Cup from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM EST on Friday and 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM on Saturday.
- NBC will cover the Breeders’ Cup Classic from 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST.
- The Breeders’ Cup Facebook page will broadcast select races live.
- The Breeders’ Cup website will live stream the entire championship.
