SpectraVET Performance of the Week: Boyd Exell’s Aachen

Australia’s Boyd Exell and his fabulous four-in-hand won two out of three phases in the combined driving at Aachen last week to clinch the overall championship!

CHIO Aachen, one of the annual highlights of the equestrian calendar, wraps up this week. Combined driving has already concluded, and the incomparable Australian Boyd Exell took home the top prize after sweeping both the dressage and the marathon phases and placing second in cones.

While video footage is not yet available from marathon and cones, we’re sharing Boyd’s gorgeous dressage test here. Make sure you have a waterproof cover on your phone or keyboard because this four-in-hand of well-matched impeccable movers will have you drooling.

It doesn’t get much better than that — except for a leading marathon round and a smart second-place finish in cones. Exell finished in first place by eleven points!
