Product Review: New Spring Tops from Noble Outfitters

For work and play!

Spring on the farm is a pretty picture-perfect experience: my horses are shedding out, the pastures are greening up, and of course the cattle are having their wobbly-legged little calves that keep us busy for every minute of our extended daylight. What better time of the year to freshen up the wardrobe with a few new tops from Noble Outfitters, both for working time and leisure time on the farm?

The Noble Outfitters Western Gingham Shirt creates the perfect clean, classic working look that I love. Lightweight but sturdy, this top was soft and comfortable, unlike many “starchy” snap-fronts that make me feel like a cardboard cutout on horseback. I loved the flattering pink and coral pattern, which at a distance blends to appear mostly pink. The pearl snaps add an undeniably western touch.

One of my constant complaints with long-sleeved western shirts is that it’s nearly impossible to find a shirt that’s long enough in the sleeves and the torso while also fitting my frame. I was thrilled to discover that not only is there plenty of room in the sleeve, the tails are long enough to tuck into my jeans and actually stay there while working in the barn and riding.

Literally, unless you have gorilla arms like me, you have no idea how exciting it is that I can do this in this shirt and get away with it. Photo by Kaitlyn Bentley.

For people with normal-length arms, the Noble Outfitters gingham shirt has a unique contrast pattern when the sleeves are rolled up:

And this shirt layers wonderfully under a vest for cooler days:

The western gingham shirt is the perfect piece for your wardrobe whether you’re a competitor, working hand or recreational rider.

The Gypsy Lace Shirt, in contrast, offers a feminine, flowy look that transitions right from the barn to an evening out with a decidedly western style. I wore it to the barn on a day I didn’t have time to actually saddle up — I love those lace sleeves too much to take them through the woods or hedgerows and tear them up — and then out for an afternoon of errands; I received lots of compliments on this top.

The back is a unique tulip style, which helps give this top its light and airy feel — perfect for transitioning from spring into summer!
