Standing Ovation by Ovation Riding: Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses
This all-volunteer organization harnesses the mysterious and healing power of horses in a miniature package, visiting people from all walks of life when they need love the most.
Each Friday, Horse Nation teams up with Ovation Riding to spotlight an individual or organization doing good work in the horse world. This week, we are proud to recognize Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses, a non-profit organization with global reach.
Entirely volunteer-run, Gentle Carousel members and miniature horses have worked with hospitalized children and adults, hospice patients, veterans and children who suffered recent traumatic events. Gentle Carousel miniatures made headlines for their work with children at Sandy Hook, survivors of the Moore, Oklahoma tornado and child trafficking victims in Washington D.C.
Gentle Carousel horses and volunteers are featured in this video, just released this week:
Gentle Carousel is headquartered in Florida, but also includes sub-organizations of volunteers and miniatures in the New York City area, California, Tennessee, and an international outpost in Greece. To learn more about Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses, please see the organization’s website or “like” Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses on Facebook.
Many thanks thanks to Ovation Riding for their support of both Horse Nation and individuals and organizations that are doing good work in the horse world. If you know someone who deserves a Standing Ovation, we would love to recognize them in a future post. Email the name of the person or organization along with a message about the good work they do to [email protected]. Photos/videos are always welcome, and include a link to their website if applicable.
