‘Oh Crap’ Monday
Monday is the crappiest day of the week, so it only makes sense that we make things official. Here’s our latest batch of reader-submitted “Oh Crap” moments!
Michael S. Clemens: “The photo sequence shows a difficult save when the horse stopped then decided to jump. My wife was at first thrown forward, then up and finally a hard landing. That she stayed on is a credit to her training and ability! Photo credit to JAS Photography.”
Jenna Schulte: “Here is a pair of photos of one of my lesson students from a show this weekend. Her little mare did a crazy back cracker over this 12 inch vertical out of nowhere; it was the fifth fence in the course and I guess this one just looked different! My student lost a stirrup but hung on, regained her seat and finished her course!”
Submitted by Derith Vogt of D&G Photography, with full permission by Lisa Borgia: “Lisa and Frodo of the Shire having a precarious moment.”
Photos by Barbara Hall, again with Lisa Borgia’s full permission: “Before and after shots of Lisa’s spectacular tumble from Laurelin in the Open Preliminary division. After making a splash in the water complex, Lisa’s deployed air vest turned her into a human bobber while Laurelin seized the opportunity to gallop back to the stable. Fortunately, both Lisa and her horse walked (or in Laurelin’s case, ran) away from the incident without injuries.”
