FEI Behind the Scenes: Nations Cup Photoshoot
The FEI ‘Behind the Scenes’ series by talented videographer Julien Guntz continues: even the best riders in the world can’t resist the opportunity to get a little silly in front of the camera.
The FEI Furusiyya Nations Cup is hailed as the oldest and most prestigious team show jumping competition in the world: it’s taken place since 1909, though it underwent a redesign in 2013 to create a more global format. Eighteen teams qualify from all over the world (plus the host nation, if not already qualified) for a single final event. The 2015 final took place on September 24 through 27 in Barcelona, Spain. But before the finals started, the nineteen teams gathered for a formal photoshoot. And when we say “formal,” we really mean “totally goofy.” Check out the behind-the-scenes look, courtesy of videographer extraordinaire Julien Guntz (must be logged in to Facebook to view).
The stars of show jumping: they’re just like us! (As long as you too like to get a little silly when presented with a photo set full of props.)
In an intense weekend of competition, Belgium came out on top in the 2015 FEI Furusiyya Nations Cup after a nail-biter of a final round. Check out the winning ride by the final member of the Belgian team, Gregory Wathelet aboard Conrad de Hus. (Must be logged in to Facebook to view.)
Go show jumping, and go riding!
