Fleeceworks Thursday Morning Feed: Meet Florentina
Charlotte Dujardin’s up-and-coming young horse Florentina is definitely one to watch for the future!
Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro’s beautiful partnership has rewritten the record books and moved thousands of us with their incomparable dance of a freestyle performance (legitimately, I can’t watch How to Train Your Dragon anymore without thinking of Blueberry.) But while there’s been no definite date set yet for Valegro’s retirement, it’s a reality of equestrian sport that the big guy will likely be heading to pasture at some point in the next few years. Fortunately, Charlotte has no shortage of excellent and talented dressage mounts in her string: but one young mare in particular has caught our eye. Meet Florentina.
Known around the barn as “Flora,” this five-year-old KWPN mare is co-owned by Charlotte and Paul and Wendy Dockley. This year, they’ve been winning almost every Young Dressage Horse event they enter, including both Potential International Dressage Horse classes and Young Horse Championships. Their most recent achievement as a team included winning the British National Dressage Championships in the Potential class.

A lovely insight to the early years shown in the 5 year old potential dressage horse class at British Dressage National Championship. Brand ambassador Charlotte Dujardin’s rising star Florentina proving she has the looks, paces and training to match. #Feedthedifference
