Thursday Morning Feed from Fleeceworks: The ‘Perfect 100’ Hunter Round
Victoria Colvin and her mount Way Cool earned a perfect score in their hunter round last week . . . could you beat it?
While it’s often said there is no such thing as perfection in our sport, the judges at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show in Virginia seemed to have found a pair they think defied those odds and gave them a perfect score. Tori Colvin, at the ripe old age of 18, pulled out a beautiful hunter round on Dr. Betsee Parker’s 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding Way Cool that not only gave them the victory, but would give any hunter fan goosebumps.
Colvin is no dark horse candidate for perfection, though, having won numerous accolades in the hunters and jumpers already. Her titles include the ASPCA Maclay Championship at the National Horse Show, the USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals, and the Artisan Farms Yound Rider Grand Prix Series. According to an interview she gave to Sidelines News last spring, when she was only 14 she entered her first jumper Grand Prix . . . and won it, beating a huge field that included sport icons Margie Engle and Kent Farrington.
Victoria Colvin is definitely one to watch for the future. In the meantime, HN salutes your perfect round, Tori and Way Cool, and, uh, hey, and can we come hang out sometime? #fangirling
