SpectraVET Performance of the Week: Kelli Cruciotti & Chamonix H
Winner of the Devon Grand Prix.
The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair has been an institution for over one hundred years, attracting the best of the best in hunters, jumpers, equitation, gaited breeds and driving. But even with over a century of prestigious competition, new records are set, such as 17-year-old Kelli Cruciotti becoming the youngest rider ever in the history of Devon to win the Grand Prix.
The $100,000 Sapphire Grand Prix is always an exciting event at Devon, taking place on the last Thursday of the show under the lights in the big Dixon Oval. This year, a sold-out crowd kept the atmosphere alive (the excitement and cheering was compared to reining-show levels of volume) as horses and riders tackled the course. At the end of the night, teenaged Cruciotti aboard Chamonix H took home the big prize. Check out their winning jump-off (must be logged in to Facebook to view.)
17 year old Kelli Cruciotti and the 2001 Swedish Warmblood Mare Chamonix H win the $100,000 Sapphire Grand Prix of Devon! Listen to that crowd- this is what show jumping is all about!

See exactly where Cruciotti edged out second-place finisher, another young gun Michael Hughes (age 18) with this head-to-head comparison:
Cruciotti reportedly missed her high-school graduation via Skype because she was showing at Devon … but something tells us that her $30,000 winnings and the prestige of taking home the Devon Grand Prix is going to make up for that.
Go riding!
