It’s a Colt! Rosie Napravnik Gives Birth to a Boy

Our favorite (and now retired) female jockey announced the birth of her son Carson Wayne Sharp on Monday.

Via Rosie Napravnik’s Facebook fan page, the now-retired top female jockey along with her husband Joe Sharp welcomed little Carson Wayne to the world on Monday:

Congratulations to Rosie and Joe! When your father runs his own race training stable and your mother was one of the top female jockeys of her time, we’re sure it’s only a matter of time before we see Carson up in the saddle (perhaps riding mom Rosie’s OTTB “Sugar”.)

As you may remember, Napravnik simultaneously announced her retirement and her pregnancy last November in victory celebrations for her ride on Untapable in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff. While she hasn’t ruled out eventually returning to the track as a jockey, her focus has now shifted to helping Sharp develop his training stable — and now, of course, with her beautiful baby boy.
