Best of Craigslist: ‘Saw It On the Internet’ Edition
If you see it on the Internet, it must be real … as much as you hope it isn’t.
On this week’s ‘Best of Craigslist’ shortlist: a mare that has most definitely been bred, a “sorrow” gelding, quite possibly the most tolerant two-year-old ever, and a tack-and-trailer extravaganza. Hey, if you saw it here on the Internet, it’s a reality.
From Katie: “my reaction was ‘OK then.'”
The ad itself seems pretty straightforward:
10 year old mare, grade, clean coggins, utd on vaccinations & feet trimming. Broke to ride, prefers to follow but will lead off if asked, catch anywhere, about 14.1 hands, climb on this mare with nothing but a grass string and ride her everywhere. Super gentle, crawl under over and around; she doesn’t mind. Good with kids. Easy to tack. Stands quiet for farrier, accepts shots well. Sound and sane. Trail ridden, traffic safe. Bred to buckskin stallion for a March 2016 foal. Asking $1200 obo, possible trades (no gaited horses please.)
And then you get to the picture – just in case there was any doubt that the mare was bred, here’s the proof.
Well, I guess there’s no doubts there. Let’s move on to something a little more … tasteful.
From Megan: “Not sure what a “Great sorrow gelding” is, but I’m not sure that I’d want one…”
Who’s looking for some tack room bargains? From Christina: “Because this is how you store tack.”
And even more tack, from Ginger:
Antique English Sattle, Briddles & Reigns with Antique Wood Chests
From Michelle:
Maybe that seller and this potential buyer could work out a deal with another from Michelle: “Not sure if this is the show pony, but once again foiled by the art of using spellcheck”
